Elan has reached an important manufacturing milestone with the production of its 1,000th composite canopy for the wind energy industry.

While often overlooked as part of the overall wind turbine structure, canopies are highly demanding composite components that must withstand challenging operating conditions while meeting strict technical and quality requirements. Their production requires a high level of precision, repeatability and process discipline throughout every stage of manufacturing.

Within Elan's Composites Division, led by Aleš Globokar, these capabilities build on decades of expertise in designing and manufacturing advanced composite components for applications where quality and consistency are essential.

Reaching the milestone of 1,000 produced canopies reflects years of accumulated knowledge, continuous improvement and close collaboration across departments. Engineers, technicians and production teams have all contributed to the development and successful manufacture of these complex components.

"This milestone is a testament to the expertise, dedication and craftsmanship of our people. Producing advanced composite components at this scale requires an exceptional combination of technical know-how, manufacturing excellence and teamwork. It demonstrates how capabilities developed over many years can be applied to demanding industrial applications, including renewable energy," said Aleš Globokar, Director of Elan Composites Division.

As global investments in renewable energy continue to grow, advanced composite manufacturing remains an important part of enabling efficient and reliable energy infrastructure. The production of the 1,000th canopy marks another chapter in Elan's long-standing commitment to innovation, engineering excellence and high-performance composites.
