Elan has been donating skis to Slovenian primary schools for over a decade

This year’s winner is Miroslav Vilhar Primary School

 

At Elan, we firmly believe that there is a good skier in every one of us. That’s why, through innovative products and a variety of activities, we share knowledge and the joy of skiing with different generations.

With the aim of bringing this wonderful sport closer to the youngest generations, we once again carried out our traditional call for applications, “Elan Donates 10 Pairs of Skis to Primary Schools: Encouraging Activity and Time Spent Outdoors”. The number of applications pleasantly surprised us and once again confirmed that the culture of sport among Slovenian primary schools is at a high level.

This year’s recipient is Miroslav Vilhar Primary School from Postojna, which has a clearly structured program and an exceptional number of days on snow: pupils from grades 1 to 9 are offered as many as 18 days of skiing. The school also regularly takes part in the “Šolar na smučeh (Schoolchild on Skis)” program, organised by the Ski Association of Slovenia.

The donation includes the following ski models, selected for technologies that support safe learning, fast progress, and practical use in school programs:

Elan Jett Junior

A model for younger skiers featuring Elan’s innovative U-Flex technology, which makes the ski approximately 25% more flexible and helps children learn more easily, with faster edge-to-edge transitions. In practice, this means better control, quicker progress in turns, and more fun on the snow.

Elan Element

Designed for more advanced young skiers who want stability and greater confidence on groomed slopes. Key benefits include Groove technology (a ribbed design for more energy and consistent flex), Parabolic Rocker (easier turn initiation, more comfort), Dual Woodcore + laminate (better grip and power transfer), and a highly durable HD Power Shell top sheet, especially important with intensive school use.

 

 

We sincerely appreciate the efforts of all applicants, who enable many children to enjoy their first—often unforgettable—skiing experiences, thereby preserving and promoting Slovenia’s skiing tradition. All applicants demonstrated a high level of dedication and commitment to the continued development of skiing in Slovenia.
